Check and Adjust R Corner

Application

        During actual cutting of rectangular tubes, the R corner dimension of the drawings may be not corresponding to that of actual tubes because of human causes, which leads to that B axis will rotate early or late when the machine is cutting the corners. If so, the result may be that there are slight dents on the corner of the parts finished, which may influence the bending effect if the prats have V groove.

        Therefore, the R corner dimension should be confirmed before the drawing is finished, which can be taken as a dimension reference.

Steps

  1. Measure by Radius Gauge

         You can use Radius Gauge to measure the R corner dimension roughly, but the result is not that precise by this kind of visual inspection method for qualitative measuring.

  1. Measure Tool in TubesT

         If the engineering files are from end users, you can import the parts in TubesT and use Measure Tool in TubesT to measure the R corner of the drawings.

        If the difference is too large between the drawings and actual tubes, you can adjust it little by little via Adjust Fillet in TubesT.

  1. Square Profile Precision

       If the result above shows that the R corner dimension of the drawings is corresponding to that of actual tubes, but there is still error on the parts, you’re allowed to accurately check the profile dimension of the tubes by Square Profile Precision to get the deviation and adjust tube dimension like width or corner radius for better cutting effect.
